I don’t know about you guys, but I feel like a huge, bubbling, insane ball of emotions before Christmas break. I just can’t help it. I love the students, they drive me crazy, I just want it all to end, I want to sing Christmas songs all day, it’s too much!
It’s during this time that I really feel as though Moira Rose is my spirit animal…
Coming in on Monday knowing it’s the last week…
Immediately realizing the students are completely checked out and vacation should have started last week…
When the school’s most over-enthusisatic teacher says they’re not planning to show a single movie or do any “silly crafts” this week because school is for learning, and you tell them anyone could do that…
When your kids just can’t concentrate and aren’t listening to you while practicing for the Christmas pageant…
When you feel as though you’ve already lost every ounce of energy and realize it’s only Tuesday…
When you see what the students have decided passes as “pajamas” for your theme day…
When your fellow teachers suggest you all dress up in holiday costumes tomorrow…
When you wake up on Wednesday morning and realize you’re only halfway through the week…
When your coworkers ask if you’ll be attending the holiday party…
When a student tells the class their older sibling says Santa Claus isn’t real…
That feeling you get when you wake up on Thursday morning…
When your coteacher asks if you’re really planning to have a “Winter Whatever” afternoon and let the kids have quiet “winter themed” free time…
When your students start telling you all about the ponies and cars and yachts they’ll be getting for the holidays…
When you wake up on Friday and know, this is it…
When your students bring in all their homemade goodies and wear their ugliest holiday sweaters for your class party…
When you realize you won’t see your kids for two weeks and begin to get sentimental…
When you’ve finally made it to the end of the day, and it’s time for BREAK!!
