I have a friend who really likes wings. Like, really likes them. Every week. Wings. So he dragged me to Mug Shotz on wing night even though I complained about how far away it was since he’d heard they were the best wings in the city.
I’ll give him that. The wings were great. Massive and cheap and great flavours.
My biggest upset was that beer wasn’t on tap, just in bottles, but I got over it.
I’ll probably go back, just for the wings. Certainly not for the ambiance or very out-of-my-way location, though it’s a nice chill place completely and utterly void of the pretension I often find at even the most low-key pubs near me (17th ave, mission, beltline, downtown area). And I would recommend it if you’re looking for great wings with fine service.
