As far as patios are concerned, Molly Malones is among the best in Calgary. And if you’re like me and spend most of your time in the beltline, Kensington is a nice change.
That being said, the food is not good. It’s mediocre at best. If you’re going out for dinner in Kensington, Molly’s is a major miss. You’re better off hitting Marathon, Tandoori Hut, Brasserie, BottleHouse, or even Original Joe’s if you want the pub atmosphere.
All in all, Molly’s is great for drinking on a patio. The food is edible but not good, so assess your wants before going. If you just want to drink with friends it’s the place; good service, reasonable prices, good beers on tap, and a great patio. Just remember that the food is crap.
