…because Joyce on Fourth is really not good.
But literally, my friends and I go at least once per week. Perhaps it’s the size (I hate waiting to get into places, in fact, I just won’t do it) and the convenience of its location. It certainly isn’t the food or the service.
Service at Joyce is downright awful. There are a couple of nice/skilled servers, but most are miserable and clearly don’t want to be there. They have little patience and perform their jobs poorly. I have had friends not recieve their food at all, been charged extra for items I was told were included with my meal, not been given condiments, water, or drinks ordered, etc.
The food is mediocre at best. Your best bet is probably a flat bread or something they can’t really screw up (like yam fries from a bag). Surprisingly, the best thing on their menu is on their brunch menu and is the $7 special (the big breakfast, not the eggs benedict). Everything else on tehir lunch and brunch menu is sub-par.
Overall, Joyce is fine to watch a game with a few drinks, but the food isn’t spectacular in teh least and don’t expect good service.
