Some of my family members absolutely love The Bard and Banker, and I definitely don’t disagree with them. In fact, I tended to look forward to their coming to visit when I lived full-time in Victoria because it’s where they always chose to eat.
The building itself is absolutely beutiful and the layout of the restaurant/pub is wonderful. With both open areas and secluded sections, there is an ideal spot for everyone.
I’ve always had excellent service and there’s a great selection of beers on tap. Furthermore, the food is delicious and just a notch above your typical pub grub. That being said, you’ll be paying for it. The prices are quite high if you’re expecting a traditional cheap pub meal (that goes for both the drinks as well as the food), so avoid B&B if a cheap pub is qwhat you’re looking for; their are plenty of other options in downtown Victoria.
Overall, I do recommend Bard and Banker. If you’re just looking to grab some drinks, I’d go elsewhere because they’re quite pricy. Ifyou’re looking for a good meal, they’ve got excellent, very high quality pub-style food, but (again) you will be paying for it).
