…than giant spears of various meats? No, I don’t think so either. That’s why I live in Cowtown, and that’s why I decided to hit up Gaucho for my birthday.
I wrote about Bolero previously, and mentioned that we have been quite a bit and enjoyed it, though the last few times we’ve gone, we haven’t gotten served all of the selections. Thus, I wanted to try Gaucho to compare the two.
Right off the top, the atmosphere is better at Bolero. It’s a larger and more intricate space and I definitely prefer it. However, the salad bar is better at Gaucho than the one at Bolero with more choices. I’m boring and love simple things like roasted yams; and they were delicious. They also had excellent cold salads and stews.
The meats were all very good. My personal favourite was the rump roast. Also delicious is the proscuttio-wrapped chicken and the beef parmesan (by the time this one came around we were all stuffed and I was the only one who enjoyed it; not sure if it was becasue everyone was so full or because they genuinely disliked the taste).
The service was very good and the food was also exceptional, I would definitely recommend hitting up Gaucho, and I will definitely be back. As for a comparison to Bolero; when Bolero is good and you are served all of the various BBQ dishes and the salad bar is full, Bolero is better. However, what with that not being the case the last two times I have been, Gaucho was a better experience.
