One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish

My best friend’s grandmother lives out in Victoria and on my most recent trip out, she insisted on taking me out for a meal. Never one to turn down good company and good food, I happily obliged. She discovered that, in all my years of living in Victoria, I had never been to Red Fish, Blue Fish and decided that it was simply unacceptable. Thus, we made our way to the inner harbour for some good old fashioned fish and chips.

The line-up was not nearly as bad as I have seen in the past, but it was still stupid long. I ordered two pieces of cod and had one steamed and another battered. I also got the Kennebec chips. It was good, but definitely over-hyped. Both the fish and the fries were good (and I like that you can order steamed versus battered and fried), but I’ve had better at dodgy basement pubs in Calgary.

After we finished our meal, we decided to wander through the docks and take in all of the houseboats (dream life, seriously; I want a houseboat), which was lovely.

Red Fish, Blue Fish on Urbanspoon         Overall, Red Fish, Blue Fish was good. It wasn’t amazing and it wasn’t worth the wait in line. It’s nice to eat outside in the beauty of the inner harbour, but that’s all that Red Fish, Blue Fish really offers that makes it any more special than any other fish and chips place.
